The IGLC Industry Day is occurring on July 30th, 2013. This event aims at presenting practical experiences about Lean Construction implementation to industry practitioners and at encouraging the use of the lean philosophy in construction companies.

The event is going to showcase local and international experiences about various topics related to lean construction implementation. So far, the list of presenters include: Skanska (Finland), Kevin Britt and Brian Gracz (DPR Construction-USA), C.Rolim (Fortaleza-Brazil),  Professor Rafael Sacks (Israel).

Raphael Sacks
 Lean construction and BIM synergies: from theory to practice Rafael Sacks is Associate Professor of Construction Management at the Technion, Israel Institute of Technology. His research is focused on Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Lean Construction.

He is the author or co-author of papers published in international peer-reviewed academic journals, peer-reviewed conference papers and a number of research reports.

He is a co-author of the “The BIM Handbook: A Guide to Building Information Modeling for Owners, Managers, Architects, Engineers, Contractors and Fabricators”.

Alexandre Mourão
 Lean Construction Philosophy as the foundation for Sustainable Building Graduated in Civil Engineering at Universidade Federal do Ceará (UFC),
Specialization in Work Safety Engineering at Universidade de Fortaleza (UNIFOR),
Specialization in Business Logistics at Universidade Federal do Ceará (UFC),
Specialization in Production Engineering at Instituto Centro Tecnológico (CENTEC) and
Master’s Degree in Production Engineering at Universidade Federal da Paraíba (UFPB),
Technical Director at C. Rolim Engenharia Ltda, where Mr. Mourão is responsible for planning, coordinating and controlling construction enterprises.

Kevin Britt

Brian Gracz
 Trust Based Teams: Integrating People, Processes, and Results Brian Gracz is a graduate of Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Engineering and Management.

He works for DPR Construction as Project Executive managing successful projects.

He is a LEED® 2.0-accredited professional with expertise in planning, schedule development and budget control in a variety of industries, including healthcare, life science, advanced technology and corporate campus projects.

Jan Elfving
 The Journey from Production Management to Supply Chain Management Ph.D. University of California, Berkeley, Project Engineering and Management Program, Structural Engineering.
He is Head of Nordic Procurement Unit at Skanska, which purchases annually material and services for the Nordic Countries and
Member of Board of Directors Skanska and with professional affiliation with the International Group of Lean Construction (contributing scholar), Lean Construction Institute (contributing scholar) and member of RIL (Association of Civil Engineers in Finland)

Fabíola Andrade

Gustavo Navarro

General Manager of Construction enterprises at Goldsztein Cyrela S/A in Rio Grande do Sul and Santa Catarina, managing about 20 construction sites.

    The organizing committee of the 21st International Summit of the International Group for Lean Construction highlights how translation is occurring during the different moments of the event:

    · In Gemba Day, there will be a group division according to the participant’s language (Portuguese and English). When necessary, there will be sequential translation

    · In Industry Day, presentations will be in Portuguese or in English, with simultaneous translation (Portuguese – English – Portuguese)

    · In the Conference, presentations will only be in the English language, with simultaneous translation (English – Portuguese)

    · In the Summer School, there will be presentations in English with no simultaneous translation.
